Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we receive every day. If you happen to have one that we haven’t covered here, be sure to give us a call! We’re always ready to talk to you and make sure you understand everything you need to about your dental care options.
What is holistic/biologic dentistry?
Holistic/biologic dentistry is an approach to dental care that keeps in mind the strong connection between oral and overall health. Basically, any treatment/ailment that occurs in the mouth can directly affect the body, and vice versa. By always keeping this link in mind, Dr. Hamel is able to better protect our patients overall health in addition to taking care of their smiles.
Do you see children?
Yes! We’re able to treat entire families here in Acworth, including their littlest smiles. Many of our team members are parents themselves, so we’ll know just how to keep your child comfortable in addition to providing the care that their growing smile needs.
Can you help me replace my old metal fillings?
Yes, our practice actually specializes in safely removing and replacing old mercury-laden fillings with tooth-colored biocompatible ones. We take every measure to reduce a patient’s exposure to mercury during this process, helping to safeguard their overall health and give them peace of mind at the same time. Our doctors are also members of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology and follow the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART).
I have multiple aesthetic flaws. Can you help me?
Yes! With porcelain veneers, we can help you get rid of chips, cracks, gaps, and stains all at the same time. This treatment is completely custom-made for each patient to help them accomplish their specific smile goals, and thanks to Dr. Hamel’s artistic eye and experienced touch, he can make your dream smile become a reality in just two to three appointments.
Will you accept my insurance?
As a courtesy to our patients, we will be happy to file an insurance claim on your behalf. We are considered Out-of-Network with all insurance companies. However, many of our patients are able to use some of their benefits towards their treatment at our practice. Your insurance company may reimburse you at a different rate for not seeing one of their contracted, in-network providers. You will need to contact your insurance provider for specific details of your plan.
